Common questions.
Is this a developer tool?
No. Kumbukum is designed for everyone, not just developers. You don't need any coding skills to use it. As a fact, we invested a lot of time to create a user-friendly experience that you can access from any device. The goal of Kumbukum is to enable you to edit and manage your knowledge effortlessly. Remember, no AI black-box memory with Kumbukum!
Can I import my data?
Yes. You can easily import your existing data into Kumbukum. It's literally as easy as drag and drop. Furthermore, Kumbukum also supports PDF, Word, and other common file formats. Moreover, you can index any public URL either directly or via our browser extension.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI tools like Claude Desktop and Cursor connect to external services. Think of it like a plugin system for AI — you add a server URL and your AI tool gains new capabilities. Kumbukum uses MCP to give your AI access to your personal memory store.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Setup is copy-paste: you get a URL and an API key, and you paste them into your AI tool's settings. If you can follow a 3-step tutorial, you can set this up in under 5 minutes.
Which AI tools does it work with?
Any tool that supports MCP — including Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Zed, and anything else built on the Model Context Protocol. The list is growing fast as MCP becomes the standard.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your data is private to your account, never shared with other users, and never used to train AI models. You can export or delete everything at any time. We outline our privacy practices in detail here.
What's the difference between memories and notes?
Memories are short, reusable context units for AI: preferences, decisions, key facts, and working context. Notes are longer, structured documents: meeting notes, specs, research, and documentation. Both are searchable and available to your connected AI tools. Usually, memories are captured automatically while you work, but in Kumbukum you can also create, edit, and delete them manually when needed.
Why one flat price instead of usage-based pricing?
Because usage-based pricing creates anxiety. You shouldn't have to think about API call costs when you're trying to get work done. $15/month means unlimited everything, no surprises, no upgrades to think about.
What happens after the trial?
Your 7-day trial gives you full access to everything. If you don't subscribe after the trial, your account stays active but read-only — you can still access and export your data. Subscribe anytime to pick up where you left off.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel with one click, no questions asked. Your access continues until the end of the billing period.
